National power regulators have asked the European Commission and member states to coordinate action on transparency and data availability rules, according to the provisional conclusions of the December Brussels mini-forum on managing congestion, published Wednesday. The mini-forum brought together EC officials, national regulators, grid operators and power exchanges from Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the
Netherlands. It reached a draft agreement that in "a significantly interconnected region such as central western Europe" players should publish information on transmission networks and generation in a "simultaneous and standardized" way. The regulators want more transparent cross-border transmission capacity calculations and more cooperation and data exchange among grid operators.
