GdF announces first production from the Munro field

GDF Britain Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of Gaz de France, is pleased to announce that the Munro field in block 44/17b, 150 kilometres offshore Lincolnshire, commenced production on the 22nd August 2005. This is only sixteen months after GDF Britain finished drilling the successful 44/17b-7 discovery well in April 2004. GDF Britain Ltd. has a 39% interest in the field and its partners are ConocoPhillips (46% and operator) and Tullow (15%). The Munro field is expected to produce more than 2 million cm/day at peak. The Munro field (operated by ConocoPhillips) consists of a single well, producing gas via a minimum-facilities platform tied back to the Hawksley subsea manifold some 5 kilometres to the north-east. Munro gas will then be transported via the Murdoch platform to the gas terminal at Theddlethorpe on the east coast of England.
