Spain's hydro stocks fall 0.32 points

Available hydro reserves fell 0.32 percentage points to 68.82% full in
the week to end Mar 25, according to latest figures published by the
environment ministry. Levels fell from 15,254GWh to 15,183GWh in
week 12, but remained higher than both the ten-year average and
last year's average for the same period of 11,673GWh and
9,131GWh respectively. Total hydro output in week 12 amounted to
828.8GWh which is 191% the amount of power produced in the
same week of 2002 and takes the accumulated hydro output levels
for the year to 13,029GWh. Rainfall in the week to Mar 23 averaged
1.3mm, only 9.8% of the 12.8mm recorded in the 66-year average in
Spain's major basins. The Northern Basin recorded 1.8mm,
Guadalquivir basin 4.5mm, Tajo 1.4mm, Guadiana 3.2mm and Duero
0mm of rainfall in week one.
