Fenosa shortlists Sagunto CCGT builders

Spain's Union Fenosa has selected ABB Alstom Power, Siemens, General Electric and Mitsubishi as the bidders for the contract to install a 1.2GW gas-fired, combined-cycle plant at Sagunto in eastern Valencia province. The generator, according to Spain's
official state gazette Tuesday, is to be completed within 36 months of a winner being chosen. The three-unit Sagunto CCGT is
an adjunct to the Union Fenosa-led development of a Eur326-mil ($411-mil) LNG import terminal in the Valencia coastal city. The first phase, with a 323,000 cu m/hour throughput, is scheduled to be completed in first-quarter 2006. A second phase would raise capacity to 800,000 cum/hr.
