Global 3 moves forward on Spain CCGT

Global 3 Energy is moving ahead with a proposal to build a 400MW gas-fired, combined-cycle plant at Congosto in Spain’s northern Castilla-Leon region. The project has reached the public consultation stage following completion of an environmental impact assessment, according to a notice published Jan 21 in the official state gazette. Construction is set to cost Eur143.3-mil ($186.3-mil). Global 3 Energy is also developing a 400MW CCGT at La Robla, also in Castilla-Leon, a 285-MW gas-fired, single-cycle power plant at Escatron in the Aragon region, which is to be converted to combined-cycle operation with the addition of a second 277MW unit, and a 285MW generator at Pinto in the Madrid region.
