Sunday for maintenance and refuelling, an official at
the plant said Thursday. "The outage will begin on Sunday," the
official said. The 994MW plant, in southeastern Spain, would be down for around
28 days, the official said. Cofrentes said earlier that its aim was to complete
all maintenance and refuelling work and have the plant back up and running by
Easter, which falls in late March this year. Cofrentes is 100% owned by Spanish
power major Iberdrola. One other Spanish nuclear reactor is planning an outage
in March. The 1,009MW Vandellos-2 (Endesa 72%, Iberdrola 28%) is to shut in
mid-March for about a month, a plant official said Thursday.
