Over one hundred grid infrastructure projects delayed

The Economy ministry is to be given the power to coordinate the granting of planning permission for much needed grid infrastructure projects. The ministry will sit with the local governments and councils to develop a simplified planning process and formalise the procedures. Currently there are 131 that have been held up in the planning stage. CNE, the regulator, has published that fact that if these projects are further delayed it would put serious strain on the all ready over loaded Spanish grid. The country already suffers from irregular and localized blackouts during periods of peak demand.
