Portuguese energy regulator ERSE has raised power prices for larger endusers in the regulated market by between 4.99% and 9.82% for the second-quarter of 2005, ERSE said. The increases from the tariffs set in December are mainly the result of higher feedstock costs for oil and gas- fired generators and lower hydroelectric output. Specifically, mainland rates are to rise by 9.82% for customers connected to very high voltage lines, by 8.68% for those served by high-voltage lines and by 5.59% for users on medium voltage lines. On the Azores, the increase has
been set at 4.99% for medium tension customers, while on the Madeira the rise will be 5.60%, the regulator said.
