E.on changes cross-border auction rules

The crossborder capacity auction rules between Germany and the Czech Republic are set to change from January, E.on said. The
new rules mean market participants able to resell acquired annual and monthly capacity on a weekly basis, as opposed to current rules allowing only yearly capacity resales on a monthly basis. The monthly auction for spare cross-border power capacity between Denmark and Germany and between the Czech republic and Germany are to be held on Dec 16, 2003 for Jan 1-31, 2004. Some 450MW will be available from Denmark to Germany and 400MW in the opposite direction, while 250MW will be available from the Czech Republic to Germany and 400MW the other way, E.on said.
